Annual Meeting for Directors of Teaching 2016

The theme for the Annual Meeting 2016 was ‘examination and assessment in a research-intensive university’.

Delegates at the meeting were updated on policy and procedural changes, including the TEF, the Examination Review, a pilot for computer-based exams, alternative modes of assessment, extension to deadline requests and an upcoming consultation on penalties for rubric infringement. They debated the meaning of the phrase ‘research-led teaching’ and heard presentations from Professor Mary Beard, Faculty of Classics, and Tim Oates, Cambridge Assessement.
