Assignments: receiving and returning students' work in Moodle

The Moodle Assignment activity allows students to make online submissions for marking by teachers. Teachers can give students feedback as comments and files, or annotate pdf documents. Assignment grades will return to students via the Moodle Gradebook. 

Assignments can optionally be set up for blind marking, or assigned to particular teachers for grading using the workflow options.

Forum: communication tools

Find out how you can use Moodle's Forum activity with students - it's one of the most versatile communication tools within Moodle.

Chat: discussions in Moodle

Use Moodle's Chat to have synchronous discussions between students and teachers who are online simultaneously. A Chat session can be available permanently for students to use whenever they wish or you can schedule regular sessions, for example when a tutor will be online.

Use the Quiz activity in Moodle to assess your students’ knowledge by posing a series of questions in a variety of formats.
