The Intercollegiate Fora

CCTL are organising a series of fora beginning in the 2022-23 academic year as part of our support for the collegiate University's commitments to develop more inclusive educational environments and practices and to eliminate differentials in students' assessment outcomes which cannot be explained through factors such as previous education and attainment ('awarding gaps').

The second Intercollegiate Forum will be held 2-5pm on Tuesday 20 June.

More details and booking will be available in due course.

The first Intercollegiate Forum: First-year undergraduate academic induction and development

  • Date: Friday 3 March 2023
  • Time: 9.30-12.30
  • Venue: Student Services Centre

Students' academic experiences during their first year of study provide strong foundations for their academic progress, outcomes and personal wellbeing. This Intercollegiate Forum was for all College academic and professional staff and students who contribute to undergraduate students' first-year academic induction and development, including (but not limited to) senior tutors and deputy senior tutors, directors of studies, librarians, academic skills tutors, heads of wellbeing and JCR officers.

The Forum included a panel of invited Cambridge and external contributors and focused discussion of key aspects of academic induction and development during the first year. We considered ways of making positive differences within the distinctive environments of the Colleges to students' experiences and outcomes, shared experiences and reflected on opportunities for enhancement in 2023-24 and beyond.
