The Cambridge Teaching & Learning Recognition Scheme is for Cambridge educators who wish to apply for accreditation as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and already have the teaching and reflective experience needed to do so. Participants on the Scheme are supported in drafting a successful application over the course of a Term, and these applications are then assessed internally.

If you have any questions about the Scheme not answered on this page or in the Handbook, please get in touch with Dr Kamilah Jooganah.

Multiple cycles of the Scheme run over the course of the year. We are no longer accepting expressions of interest for 2024-25.

Key dates

Participants on the Scheme are expected to attend three face-to-face sessions, which are designed to support you in understanding the process and crafting a successful application. The dates for Cycle 1 (Michaelmas Term) are provided below; all dates are available in the Handbook. All sessions are in the afternoon, usually 2-5pm.

Associate Fellow applicants (D1):

  1. Tuesday 22 October
  2. Monday 4 November
  3. Thursday 21 November

Fellow and Senior Fellow applicants (D2 and D3):

  1. Friday 18 October
  2. Friday 15 November
  3. Monday 9 December

Fellowship categories

Advance HE offer accreditation at four categories of Fellowship; for a full description of these, see the Professional Standards Framework.

Applications for Principal Fellowship (D4) are not currently supported through the Scheme. If you are interested in applying for D4, please take a look at our Fellowship Guidance site on Moodle.

Expressions of interest

Expressions of interest for 2024-25 are now closed.

As places are limited, we ask that you submit an Expression of Interest form via Moodle if you would like to participate. This will let us assess your potential eligibility for Fellowship before you invest more substantial time into drafting a full application.

Please visit the Recognition Scheme Expressions of Interest site on Moodle for more information, the form, and to submit.
