We are pleased to share the publication of the new Assessment Good Practice Guide.

This guidance has been written to support the University's new Ordinance for Assessment Formats, which takes effect from 1 October 2025.

The Assessment Good Practice Guide provides an overview of key considerations for designing assessments, and also offers specific advice on the five assessment formats contained within the new Ordinance, with the aim of enabling students to demonstrate effectively their knowledge, skills and understanding.

Finally, the guide presents a curated selection of case studies from a diverse range of disciplines across the University, exploring the practical implementation of these assessment formats at Cambridge.
