The Cambridge Centre for Teaching & Learning is introducing new teaching qualifications and development opportunities for new and experienced teaching staff and professional services staff involved in supporting students' learning. Successful completion of accredited activities results in nationally recognised accreditation by Advance HE.

All accredited provision by CCTL is offered to Cambridge staff without a course fee.

 

Advancing Educational Practice Programme

This new, nine-month taught cohort programme is accredited by Advance HE at the level of Fellow; all participants who successfuly complete the programme will become Fellows of the Higher Education Academy.

You will explore theories of learning, develop a philosophy of teaching and learning, enquire into approaches to curriculum design, feedback and assessment, and expand your knowledge and practice through introductions to higher education research. You will work on a series of formatively-assessed assignments during the year, and to complete the programme will prepare an extended reflective account of practice.

In this first year we are offering up to 35 places on the programme.

Cambridge Teaching & Learning Recognition Scheme

This new scheme provides a route to recognition of individual experience of teaching and supporting learning in higher education as an alternative to our flexible development programmes. Applying for recognition involves preparing a structured reflective account of your practice, with which this scheme will support you, supplemented by letters of support.

In 2022-23 we will offer routes to recognition for Fellowship (up to 20 places) or Senior Fellowship (up to 10 places) of the Higher Education Academy. A route to recognition as Associate Fellow will be introduced in 2023-24.

The Recognition Scheme will run in two cycles, the first beginning in Michaelmas Term and the second in Lent Term.

These events provide opportunities for colleagues to share ideas, expertise and good practice, and to hear about and inform some of the collegiate University's larger conversations about education. Both events events will be hosted by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education, Professor Bhaskar Vira.
