Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning

A new online course - Inclusive Teaching and Learning for All Students - is now available to staff across the collegiate University.

Bringing together and updating the content from two previous resources - Teaching Disabled Students and Inclusive Teaching and Learning for Disabled Students - the new course has incorporated suggestions from colleagues and draws on recommendations from the recent Collegiate University Disability Review as well as the latest EHRC and NADP guidance following the High Court ruling in the Abrahart / Bristol University case.

This course aims to support staff in developing an inclusive approach to teaching and learning that reduces or removes the barriers which many disabled students face in accessing their teaching and learning, while improving the experience for all learners. By the end of the course, you should be able to:

  • Summarise key principles of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment
  • Recognise how inclusive practice can reduce the need for many reactive adjustments
  • Apply inclusive approaches when designing and delivering teaching, assessment and feedback
  • Recall our legal duties and responsibilities to disabled students
  • Identify and implement reasonable adjustments to ensure students can access essential support

It takes up to two hours to complete, and is structured across eight thematic sessions.

Produced by the Accessibility & Disability Resource Centre with support from the Blended Learning Service and CCTL.
